SNL alum Horatio Sanz has dropped about 100 lbs. New York Magazine saw him on the red carpet of the 8th Annual 24 Hour Plays on Broadway last week and asked him about his drastic change in appearance.

“I’ve been eating better,” he admitted. “I’ve been trying to come up with a joke about how I’ve lost weight and I was going to say, ‘I stopped putting nuts in my sundaes.’” Apparently, he’s lost about 100 pounds. Roughly. “I never weighed myself when I was at my fattest, because I was scared I might die,” he said. He’s been working out, too.

Veteran crooner Tom Jones has mixed feelings about reading his own obituary - after he was killed off online last month by a sick Internet prankster.

The Delilah singer, 68, was fast asleep in his Los Angeles home when his daughter-in-law and manager Donna heard the seemingly tragic news, and she phoned in to check on his status. Hours later, Jones sat for a TV interview with news broadcasters CNN - and had a chance to read the obituary editors had prepared in case the death rumors were true.

However Jones admits he was rather proud of the achievements the article detailed. He recalls, “It’s a strange thing because there was a rumor going around about a month ago saying that I’d passed away. Somebody put it on the internet… and Fox news got a hold of it in Los Angeles and called my agent asking if I was all right. So my agent called my daughter-in-law, who is one of my managers, and my son, who is my other manager, was flying from London to L.A. so he was in the air.”

“There’s a fellow who works for me in Los Angeles and Donna, my daughter-in-law, says to him, ‘Can you check on Tom to see if he’s all right?’ And so he came in the bedroom and he said, ‘Well he’s snoring, and I don’t think people snore when they’re dead!’ Then I did an interview with somebody from CNN later that day and she said do you want to read your obituary? Honestly, they had it all printed out! So I read it, and there was some nice things in it, I must admit!”

Audiences found the vampire romance “Twilight” infectious in its opening weekend, pushing the movie to a take of $70.6 million.

Catherine Hardwicke’s film also enjoyed the biggest opening ever for a female director, blowing away the previous standard of $41.1 million set by Mimi Leder’s “Deep Impact” in 1998.

Drawing from its huge fan base of teenage girls, who fell for Stephenie Meyer’s novel of forbidden love between brooding vampire Edward Cullen and bookish high schooler Bella Swan, “Twilight” made a whopping $20,636 per theater, according to Sunday morning estimates.

And the fangirls will get another taste soon enough: Summit Entertainment, which released “Twilight,” announced during the weekend that it’s going ahead with production of “New Moon,” based on the second book in Meyer’s internationally best-selling series. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will return as its star-crossed lovers, but whether Hardwicke will be at the helm again is still being determined.

The laid-back Hardwicke, who went bodyboarding at sunset Saturday to take her mind off this high-pressure weekend, said Sunday morning that she was heading to a meeting later in the day to discuss her possible involvement in “New Moon.”

It’s been 10 months since Heath Ledger’s tragic death. And, obviously, Michelle Williams is still reeling.

In fact, during a recent interview with Newsweek, the actress – mother of Ledger’s three-year-old daughter, Matilda – burst into tears at the mere mention of his name.

“It’s so sad,” the 28-year-old told the magazine of Ledger’s death – ruled an accidental overdose of prescription drugs – in late January.

How is she holding up? “I guess it’s always changing,” she said. “What else can I say? I just wake up each day in a slightly different place – grief is like a moving river.”

Although the two Brokeback Mountain stars had split before Ledger’s death, they always remained close.

“It’s a strange thing to say, because I’m at heart an optimistic person, but I would say in some ways it just gets worse,” she said of her grief. “It’s just that the more time that passes, the more you miss someone. In some ways it gets worse. That’s what I would say.”

The actress – currently starring in the indie flick Wendy and Lucy – says she’s currently taking a year off to focus on her daughter.

“I don’t want to work while she’s in school,” the former Dawson’s Creek star (who’s been linked to director Spike Jonze) told Newsweek. “I want her to have a routine. I want the plainest, simplest, most ordinary, habituated routine possible.”
